1885 Soldiers Letter to Cobham, England endorsed ‘From Trooper A Dorchester, No. 6 Troop, C.M.R. (Cape Mounted Rifles) Komghas. The cover, to get the 1dsoldiers’ concessionary rate, has been signed by Captain Sprenger. A 1d has been cancelled by a KOMGHA MR 31 85 barred numeral duplex. After the Eastern Cape Frontier Wars of the 1870’s, a small army contingent remained in the area in case of further uprisings. Very fine.
