1901 incoming cover from Denmark to Gotthard Christensen of the Scandinavian Corps, with a 4 and two 8 Ore cancelled Nakskov FE 01. The cover was censored on arrival in St Helena. The Scandinavian Corps was formed in Pretoria on 12 October 1899, the day after war was declared. Officers and NCO’s of the various Scandinavian nationals were elected and Christensen was elected Sergeant of the Danish Troop. He, along with 47 members of the Scandinavian Corps, was captured at Paardeberg with General Cronje on 27 February 1900. An exceptionally rare incoming cover to a member of the Danish Contingent – much rarer than outgoing.
