c1926 undated and unsealed envelope to Valetta with a straight line ‘THE MALTA TIMES’ h/s, that has a good strike of the MALTA POSTAGE PAID ¼D handstamp. (Proud PD29) A small circular ‘17’ postman’s cachet is on the back. The use of this MALTA POSTAGE PAID ¼D handstamp on a cover is extremely rare, the few examples known of this strike are normally on wrappers.
