1833 (November 28) letter to London from Port Louis endorsed at the top ‘P William ‘with an oval framed COL. / POST OFFICE / MAURITIUS cachet at the upper right. A black framed LIVERPOOL / INDIA SHIP LR. h/s is on the back s well s a London 10 JU 1834 arrival cancel. A manuscript ‘1/3’ is on the front of the letter, paying the 4d India Letter charge and 11d for a single letter rate for a ½ oz letter for a journey of 170 – 230 miles in the UK. An extremely scarce letter with this COL / POST OFFICE / MAURITIUS h/s that took 194 days to reach its’ destination.
