S.S. COBEQUID. 1914 cover from Barbados to Glace Bay, Nova Scotia that has had the stamp washed off when the ship struck the Trinity Ledge Rocks near the entrance to the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, during a gale and blizzard on 13 January 1914. The ships Captain, John Hawson, was to blame for the incident. The passengers and crew were rescued the following day by the S S Westport and S S John L Cann. Recovered mail received a straight line FROM WRECK OF S. S. ‘COBEQUID’ h/s. Scarce, few recorded.
